Regan McEntee & Partners hosted a very successful Fund Raiser Coffee Morning and Cake Sale on Friday the 26th September last at their Offices in Trim.   €3,300 was raised for the Meath Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society and specifically will be used for the running of Whistlemount Day Care.    The Day Centre is open six days per week and welcomes clients from all parts of County Meath.

The sun shone brightly and it is estimated that 200 – 250 people called in to the Office from when doors opened at 10.00am until 2.00pm.    Guests included Helen McEntee TD, Ray Butler TD, Councillor Jim Holloway Cathaoirleach Meath County Council, Councillors Joe Fox, Noel French, Trevor Golden, and Caroline Lynch, Sean Boylan and his wife Tina.  Many friends, colleagues and clients of Regan McEntee kindly supported the occasion.

Elaine Byrne, Solicitor from the Firm’s Probate Department who organised the function attributes the large crowd to all those who support the Society and to this end the numerous people who helped promote the day including Noel French, Focus on Trim Magazine; The Very Reverend Paul Bogle, Dean of St Patricks Trim; The Very Reverend Seán Henry PP and The Very Reverend Mark Mohan CC, Church of St. Patrick, Trim and Rosemary Dowling Parish Secretary; Sinead Brassil and all in LMFM and of course John Donohoe of The Meath Chronicle.

On the day, Vincent Adair treated everybody to an array of tunes. Chas buachaillí agus cailíní Ghaelscoil na Bóinne ceol aláinn a thug pleisiúr agus ardú croí do gach a raibh i láthair. While Kieran Maguire, and Seamus Farrelly of The Meath Chronicle were on hand to capture many special snaps. Pat O’Shaughnessy of LMFM broadcast live from 11.15 am and spoke to Elaine Byrne Solicitor, Annemarie Russell, Chairperson of the Meath Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society and guest Mrs. Nancy Higgins of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath.    The event also received National coverage with Ryan Tubridy mentioning it on his show on 2fm and Elaine Byrne would specifically like to thank Ryan’s fantastic Producer Grace Waller.

On the morning, everybody was treated to an array of goodies including scones, cheesecakes, apple tarts and chocolate cake. A big thanks should be paid to the fantastic staff of Regan McEntee who baked the night before and made endless cups and tea and coffee on the day, and to all in Sherry Fitzgerald Royal Auctioneers who provided endless help with the day.

Lidl Trim and in particular the fantastic Regional Manager Gareth Breezeand Store Manager Shane should be mentioned.   Elaine Byrne tells us that she contacted Lidl for a raffle prize and Gareth Breeze telephoned Elaine not only giving a raffle prize but with an offer to sponsor the whole morning. He stayed true to his word and supplied endless quantities of scrumptious Chocolate Chip Cookies, Danishes, Scones, and other treats from the Bakery as well as supplying all Milk, Tea, Coffee, Water, Butter, Jam.     Lidl also sponsored a raffle prize €50 Gift Voucher for the Store and the lucky winner was Mrs. Geraldine Murphy.

To end and to quote the words of Chairperson of the Meath Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society Annemarie Russell, the mission statement of the Branch is to ensure that no family in County Meath would go through this disease alone.
